Great is Your Faithfulness.

In East Asia, there was a shopping center we went to a few times a week.  The shops all tried to bring in customers by setting up loud speakers outside their doors, and either playing very bumpy electronic music or setting a recording on repeat.  When we would prayer walk, we noticed that the music seemed to get louder, as if the enemy was trying to drown out our prayers.  The beautiful thing is that God's hearing knows no bounds.  Nothing placed in front of our mouths, nothing louder than our voices, could ever prevent God from hearing our cries.  I giggled in joy at the thought tonight, because I realized I had nothing to fear.

Tonight, when I broadcast my thankfulness for the place the Lord has me in, and began to sit in gratefulness for the roles He has given me, the enemy tried attacking me, provoking me.  I got momentarily agitated, and then began to smile.  I remembered that the enemy attacks when he feels threatened, when he's losing.  And a burst of joy from the Holy Spirit filled my heart because I remembered God's faithfulness to strengthen the hearts of His people, His goodness to turn an ear towards the brokenhearted, and His unfailing power and authority over all creation.

Ascribe to the Lord, O heavenly beings,
ascribe to the Lord glory and strength.
Ascribe to the Lord the glory due his name;
worship the Lord in the splendor of holiness.
The voice of the Lord is over the waters;
the God of glory thunders,
the Lord, over many waters.
The voice of the Lord is powerful;
the voice of the Lord is full of majesty.
The voice of the Lord breaks the cedars;
the Lord breaks the cedars of Lebanon.
He makes Lebanon to skip like a calf,
and Sirion like a young wild ox.
The voice of the Lord flashes forth flames of fire.
The voice of the Lord shakes the wilderness;
the Lord shakes the wilderness of Kadesh.
The voice of the Lord makes the deer give birth
and strips the forests bare,
and in his temple all cry, "Glory!"
The Lord sits enthroned over the flood;
the Lord sits enthroned as king forever.
May the Lord give strength to his people!
May the Lord bless his people with peace!

Psalm 29

Thank You, Abba, Father.
